ASUS, like the rest of the manufacturers of portable equipment, is updating its range of laptops with the new generations of processors and graphics cards from companies such as Intel, AMD or NVIDIA. In this case we have the update of the ASUS ROG STRIX G16 range, with 13th Gen Intel Core processors and RTX 40 graphics, more DDR5 memory and 16 Nebula Display screens in some models such as the one analyzed, with Mini LED technology and even 240 Hz refresh rate among other novelties.

This is a gaming laptop with a classic cut where parameters such as dissipation are maximized instead of prioritizing reducing thickness or weight. The result for the ASUS ROG STRIX G16 is a maximum of 240W of dissipation potential combining the CPU and the GPU (65W for the CPU and 175W for the GPU), although in the specific model analyzed, the GPU stays in a TGP. of 90W. In sustained regimes we are facing a combined 160W, taking into account that the graph is the RTX 4060 Laptop. The weight, as we said, is 2.5 kg with a thickness of 3.05 cm. So it’s better if we move it little and we make ourselves strong in a rather fixed place, except to take it to a second residence or for a gamer meeting.

Of course, we can also use this equipment in productivity tasks and multimedia authoring or content creation. Especially in the analyzed model, with an RTX 4060 GPU, with gaming performance behind the models with RTX 4080 GPUs for Laptop, for example.

The fact that we are dealing with a device that is not particularly thin and light like the ASUS ROG STRIX G16 does not mean that ASUS has left design in the background. Quite the contrary: ASUS has evolved the dot matrix design of the lid with elements inspired by Pixel Art and graffiti or cyberpunk aesthetics. We also have a 360 design in which the aesthetic details can be seen in other sections, such as the crossed ventilation grills on the base or the typographic elements spread across different locations on the equipment.

The connections are distributed on the sides, as there is no space at the rear, completely dedicated to cooling. It is a laptop without an ass to put it simply and metaphorically, which makes it more friendly in terms of dimensions than other computers, although the ASUS ROG STRIX G16 is not a particularly compact or light laptop, as we said.

The presentation of the equipment is careful, with a box in which sustainable materials predominate. The ASUS ROG STRIX G16 comes in a dark gray color, although full of colorful details in the design part, as we have already mentioned before.

The screen has narrow borders, with the webcam protruding from the top bezel, and a slightly wider bottom bezel to accommodate the space needed for the keyboard and touchpad. The keyboard does not have a separate numerical component, all told. The hinges are robust, matching a fairly traditional, yet reliable aesthetic.
