Youtuber buys all the games from the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop before its closure

For those who didn’t know, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop to close in a weekTherefore, a youtuber decided to purchase all the games offered by the North American version of the store for both devices. The Completionist showed in detail how the process was and how much he had to spend to achieve this goal.
According to the content creator, he bought 866 games for the Wii U and 1,547 for the Nintendo 3DS. And not to leave the task unfinished, he also insisted on purchasing all the DLC the store offers, as well as all the DSiWare and Virtual Console titles.
The Completionist claims that he met his goal in about a year. According to him, The entire process took 328 days to complete and he ended up spending over $20,000.
Most of that value, $13,118, was spent on 3DS games. While the Wii U, having received fewer games in its life cycle, required an investment of $9,673 in all its games and DLC.
The youtuber revealed that he used more than 460 eShop cards to fulfill his mission. The 866 games on the Wii U add up to 1.2TB and the 1,547 titles on the Nintendo 3DS add up to just 267GB. More than serving for The Completionist to finish his collection, this mission was done to preserve the history of both platforms.
The content creator ensures that all the games he purchased and downloaded will be donated to the Video Game History Foundation, whose goal is the preservation and dissemination of historical media related to video games. The Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop will close on March 27.
