Bloober Team wants to follow in the footsteps of Naughty Dog on TV

Although currently the most anticipated video game on the part of Bloomer Team is the Remake of Silent Hill 2 that they are doing for Konami, the studio has distinguished itself by creating new licenses in the horror genre. One of these licenses is The Medium and it is confirmed that it will have an adaptation to a television series, but this is not the only project of this type that Bloober Team wants to do.
In a recent interview with the Polish portal Bankier, the CEO of Bloober Team Piotr Babieno said that he wants to make the company a leader in the horror genre, both in video games and in other media. For this reason Bloober Team is considering following in the footsteps of Naughty Dog, as they want to make adaptations that increase the sales of their video games.
Piotr Babieno’s plan is for the Bloober Team to be leaders in the horror genre by 2027, with plans to venture into virtual reality, considered the future of the genre for the CEO. Bloober Team’s goal is for their video games to be milestones for the entire industry and not just for the horror genre, so their goal is to follow in Naughty Dog’s footsteps.
Going forward, we want our titles to be not only milestones for the genre, but also for the entire industry. We have said many times that our goal is to get to the place where Naughty Dog or Ninja Theory is.”
To achieve this, Piotr Babieno says that he wants to promote the Bloober Team video games through transmedia projects, although these will not necessarily be done by themselves. “We want to carry out horror projects in games, film, television and books,” said the CEO, so we could see several announcements from Bloober Team in the coming months.
At the moment, the only adaptation of a Bloober Team video game that has been announced is that of The Medium, which was revealed in October of last year and is supervised by the CEO of Bloober Team together with Tomasz Baginski, the executive producer of The Witcher and Direction of the Night on Netflix. No details about the series were released by The Medium, but hints were made at the time of the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunrers and the resurgence in sales it caused for Cyberpunk: 2077.
