All the essentials in a gaming motherboard

Maker: GIGABYTE
Model: B760 GAMING X AX
chipsets: B760
Socket: LGA 1700
RAM: ddr5
The GIGABYTE B760 GAMING X AX is an evolution of the motherboard without AX “suffix” referring to the Wi-Fi 6E controller. It is a mid-range motherboard prepared for the thirteenth generation of Intel processors: Raptor Lake. It also supports Alder Lake 12 Gen processors, which use the same LGA 1700 socket.
The box has a futuristic design on the front and, how could it be otherwise, among the product keys that we can see on the back is the addition of Wi-Fi 6E. He also comments on the comfort of EZ-Lach and VRM features that we will see on the next page.
The GIGABYTE B760 GAMING X AX is designed for DDR5 RAM memory and has a powerful dissipation for the VRM, in the main block you can read the serial. The NVMe connectors are 4.0 and have support for RAID levels 0, 1, 5 and 10. The main one, managed by the processor, has dissipation.
Its price is around 200, the dissipation of the secondary NVMe, boot or reset buttons on the PCB are some of the highest-end details, as well as a high-quality DAC and headphone preamplification. GIGABYTE takes care of this in its high-end, with excellent ESS Saber DACs. In this mid-range we will have to settle for a Realtek ALC897 chip.
As we can see in the PCB soldering, we do not have several lanes in the secondary PCIe, conveniently located at the bottom, so as not to be covered by large graphics cards. We have the main PCIe 4.0 x16 controlled by the GPU and 2 secondary ones in charge of the chipset, 3.0 x1.
For powering the processor, it has an 8-pin EPS connector, it does not have 2 like the enthusiast ranges, but it even has room to feed the maximum turbo of the Core i9-13900K with which we will put it to the test. It is well served with fan connectors with 2 for the CPU on top, another 2 for the box on the side and 2 lower.
There is no LED lighting but there are 5v and 12v headers on the top and bottom. It has 3.2 headers for front USB Type C and Type A. The 4 “debug” LEDs for boot, CPU, GPU and memory are red, so you will have to get closer to distinguish them in case of failure. It has a Q-Flash Plus button that allows you to update BIOS via USB just by powering the motherboard.
As we have already mentioned, the novelty of this GIGABYTE B760 GAMING X AX is the addition of a Wi-Fi 6E network controller, accompanying 2.5 GbE Ethernet. It also has an external antenna to be able to position it optically and its design is quite elephantine. The rear panel connectivity port assembly is as follows:
- 1 x USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 2 (red)
- 1 x USB Type-C 3.2
- 1 x USB Type-A 3.2
- 5 x USB Type-A 2.0
- 2 x SMA Antenna Connectors (2T2R)
- 1 x DisplayPort 1.2 ([email protected])
- 1 x HDMI 2.0 ([email protected])
- 1 x RJ-45
- 6 x audio jacks
