Latest Elden Ring update adds ray tracing

A new update of Elden Ring has added ray tracing features to the game, along with some balance changes and bug fixes.

Elden Ring has been a great success for the developer FromSoftwareas it has sold over 20 million copies in its first year.

Since its release in February 2022, the development team has released many updates for Elden Ring, adding new features, bug fixes, and balance changes.

Several Elden Ring weapons have been modified and improved in this period, as have many of its bosses. Now, Bandai Namco Entertainment has detailed the content of the game’s patch 1.09, confirming the arrival of a new feature to Elden Ring.

As the patch notes reveal, update 1.09 for Elden Ring is now live on all platforms, adding ray tracing features to the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X versions.

Ray tracing has been touted as a major differentiator for current-gen console and PC hardware, but it can be extremely taxing on the system. For this reason, the patch notes indicate that frame rate and resolution may be affected when playing with ray tracing.
