LEGO 2K Drive would be officially announced on Thursday, March 23

It seems that LEGO is preparing the official announcement of LEGO 2K DriveWell, this week we reported new rumors and it was learned that a closed beta is being carried out, which could have been confirmed with the surprise announcement that the official LEGO account published on its social networks.

In February of last year, VGC reported that 2K and LEGO had reached a license agreement to develop several sports video games, the first of which would be made by Visual Concepts and Sumo Digital. These games would be racing and soccer, with the first being LEGO 2K Drive which is due to be announced this week.

This weekend we reported that during the last XboxEra podcast it was said that the LEGO and 2K racing game is called LEGO 2K Drive, which would be “something like a smaller scale LEGO Forza Horizon”, with open world sections but also races on closed circuits. It is no coincidence that the official LEGO account has prepared an announcement for this week, so shortly after this rumor emerged.

Things did not stop there, because when the Insider Gaming portal reported the leak of the supposed name of the game, some players contacted them assuring that not only the name of LEGO 2K Drive is real, but also that a closed beta is being carried out. , so the game is already in a playable state. For this reason, we hope that the reveal of LEGO 2K Drive will be accompanied by gameplay and not just an announcement of its title.

We’ve seen a LEGO Speed Champions expansion for Forza Horizon 4 in the past that featured both LEGO-based tracks and vehicles, giving us an idea of what the new LEGO 2K Drive might look like. However, for now, we only have to wait until Thursday to confirm if the announcement is really for the new LEGO 2K Drive and not for a different product.
