Exterior design
The aesthetics of this Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi It comes much more simplified than the Z790 version, as is understandable, not for nothing the difference is about €400. In a ITX-format there is still room to give us a protective cover for the port panel, which combines a passive aluminum block extended for the VRM and plastic extension for the rest of the area. He upper VRM segment count with one Second block independent.
The second aesthetic element is located on the M.2 Q-Latch slot acting like dissipator of thisand in a second lower level we have another small aluminum block that in turn will passively cool the chipset which is located just below. In the back we will have the second slot, this time without heatsinkso we must be aware of whether our chassis has an opening large enough to be able to place coolers for the SSD.
As additional technical details we have slot PCIe with steel reinforcement and enlarged size tab, slots DDR5 with sunk solders on the PCB and boot post panel located in the upper right corner. There is also space for 1 5VDG header + 1 12VBRG lighting.
VRM
This Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi has a 8 layer PCB and a configuration of 8 main phases for Vcore, 1 phase for VccGT and 2 phases for VccAUXwhich will be fed through the ATX connector and another solid 8-pin EPS header.
The DC-DC conversion stage is composed of 8 Vishay SiC659A MOSFETS with 80A power rating in configuration of direct phases, as well as 2 MOSFETS On Semiconductor ALP28CL additional located in the vertical segment. PWM control is handled by an EPU DIGI+ ASP2100R. The VRM is completed with a signal smoothing stage made up of 11 metal-coated chokes with 5K Black Metallic capacitors.
Platform and RAM
Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi has the LGA 1700 socket which is currently compatible with 13th Gen Intel Core i processors, as well as Pentium and Celeron models based on Raptor Lake cores. chipset Intel B760 allows us to overclock only memories through XMP profiles, although it also supports CPU increase if we do it from the BCLK with the limitations and risks that this entails.
B760 is a chipset capable of DDR5 RAM memoriesin this case the board has 2 slots and a maximum capacity of 64GB at 7600MHz maximum frequency compatible with XMP 3.0 and Asus OptiMem II. The rest of its capabilities will be limited on this board because there is not enough space for all the PCIe slots or connections that it would support on ATX boards.
Storage capacity and PCIe slot
The distribution of internet connectivity in this Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi It will be simple due to its ITX format. We only have a PCIe slot in full format and with its 16 active PCIe 5.0 lanes and connected directly to the CPU.
Regarding storage configuration, we have 2 M.2 slots and a total of 4 SATA ports located in the lower right corner with a straight orientation on the board, instead of the typical 90º rotated panel for better chassis access. The operating conditions will be simple:
- 2_1 It will be the slot located on the main face of the board equipped with a heatsink. It supports 2280 format and operates with 4 PCIe Gen4 lanes connected to the chipset without a shared bus.
- m.2_2 It is located on the rear face, supporting units in 2280 format and operating with 4 PCIe Gen4 lanes connected this time to the CPU.
- The 4 SATA III 6Gbps ports they are connected to the chipset without sharing a bus with anything else.
Network connectivity and sound card
The network connectivity of this Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi remains intact with respect to ATX boards, since we have a port Ethernet providing 2.5 Gbps of bandwidth thanks to Intel I225-V chip. Next to it we have the wireless card Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211triple band with 2.4 Gbps for 5 GHz and 6 GHz and or 574 Mbps for 2.4 GHz, including Bluetooth 5.3.
Unlike the ROG Strix Z790-I, this board does incorporate the sound card on the PCB itself, being a Realtek S1220A codec and Savitech SV3H712 amplifier that supports stereo playback at 120 dB SNR and recording at 113 dB SNR up to 32-bit/192kHz. It incorporates an impedance sensor in the front and rear headphone output, Jack detection and uses Japanese Nichicon Gold capacitors.
I/O ports and internal connections
We go on to detail the peripheral connectivity of the Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFion whose rear panel we find the following ports:
- 2x 2T2R outputs for Wi-Fi antenna
- 3x USB 2.0 (black)
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (blue)
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C
- 1x RJ-45 2.5Gbps port
- Display Port 1.4
- HDMI 2.1
- 5x 3.5mm jack
In this distribution there are no surprises, in fact we find it excellent due to the type of chipset and size of the board, with 8 rear ports of which stands out the 20Gbps USB Gen2x2. Integrated graphics needs are also covered with two ports, as is the connection for Wi-Fi antennas and a sound panel.
The internal connections will be the following:
- 3x Fan headers (1 CPU_FAN, 1 AIO_PUMP, 1 Chassis)
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C connector
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 connector (supports up to 2 ports)

BIOS
This board has a 128MB BIOS chip which shows us the usual interface of the mask where we can quickly read all its content and enjoy impeccable stability. From the EZ-mode or simple we access options such as XMP, Qfan Control, Intel Rapid Storage, EZ System Tuning mode and cooling connection monitor.
In the overclock section we have the possibility of activating the XMP profile for the memories and within the options of the Tweaker’s Paradise we will have access to the BCLK parameters. The rest of the menus remain unchanged with respect to other BIOSes of the brand, for example Resizable BAR, TPM or management of PCIe connections and ports.
VRM temperatures
we will make a CPU stress test in its stock configuration and without touching the voltage assigned by default. We collect temperatures on the surface with a thermal camera and by means of a sensor from HWiNFO.
Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi
Relaxed Stock | Full Stock
Plate | 39ºC | 41ºC |
Chipset (sensor) | 30ºC | 51ºC |
VRM (outside) | 36ºC | 69ºC |
VRM (Sensor) | 34ºC | 80ºC |
We see that the VRM maintains the type with this CPU under stress and an average consumption of 253W, so it is to be assumed that with locked models such as the i9-13900 the figures will be even better controlled.
voltages
This board is working with some average voltages of 1.32V with the 13900K under stressa figure identical to that seen on Z790 boards, so we consider that it is a correct voltage, although we can adjust the voltages, LLC and PL1/2 better from the BIOS.
Final words and conclusion about the Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi
This plate has shown us the caliber it is made of, and as a good ROG Strix it has behaved very well even with a processor that exceeds its capabilities as is the 13900K. VRM temperatures have remained stableso with locked models they will be even better. BIOS applies correct voltagesnothing that worries us in terms of efficiency or stability.
We recommend reading the best motherboards on the market
Aesthetics accompanies in the event that we choose a chassis with glass, and access to PCIe and M.2 slots is excellent both in front and behind. We just have to ensure that the back is not behind any sheet so that it allows us to place SSD heatsinks. The rear panel and front connections meet the needs of demanding users perfectly, with video ports, USB 3.2 Gen2x2, Wi-Fi 6E and a good integrated sound card.
He The price of this Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi will be €269, A figure that, as we expected, was going to be high compared to ATX or Micro ATX with similar features. Being a plate aimed at a very specific segment, it can be considered more exclusive, but despite having a more than satisfactory performance, €200 would be perfect for it. Do you think it’s a good buy?
