Values Max gave a long interview to Rolling Stone in which he spoke of his next album, “Diamonds & Dancefloors“, which will be released this Friday (27). According to the report, the new project of the Albanian-American singer is “deeply personal” and based on a broken heart, with electro-pop melodies full of synthesizers, produced by the Canadian Cirkut. The album is Ava’s first release after signing with SB Projectsin Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato).
During the chat, the artist caught the attention of music fans by saying that her smash hit “Sweet But Psycho” “kinda paved the way for pop music again” – since other styles, especially the R&B, were on the rise at the time. According to Ava, at the time, she had a “mental breakdown” and prayed for the song to be a successeven if you are not religious.
“I was like, ‘God, please, if you’re listening… I need to pay for my gas. My parents, I want to buy them a house. I just want to help the people I love and I want to perform on big stages and I want to have fans and I want people to relate to my music.’ I was screaming it at the top of my lungs (…) I said, ‘If ‘Sweet but Psycho’ doesn’t do anything, I’m done”.’
As the publication recalls, the pop sound of Max’s song contrasted with the hits of the time, which included “In My Feeling“, in drake“Sick Mode“, in travis scottand “Boo’d Up” in Ella Mai.
