The quality of Cuban boxing is indisputable and each presentation of Cuba at the international level is followed by fans of the sport of fists, as well as by rivals who study each of the movements and tactics of the fighters of the Island.

This season the Domadores de Cuba had a streak of 15 victories in a row and it was the turn of defending the shirt to Yosbany Veitía in Mexico City. The 2017 world champion measured forces against the local Daniel ´Tubo´ Ramírez, but could not achieve victory. According to the sports newspaper Jit, the match was agreed to eight rounds, with the Mexican winning by split decision 2×1. The scores of 78-74, 77-75 in favor of Ramírez in the first and third round respectively, while one of the judges saw Veitía win 78-74 in the second round, information shared by @ESPNKnockOut on his official Twitter account .
After the fight, the winner offered an interview, where he expressed that Veitía is a difficult rival and it was a great challenge for him. He also argued that he expects more challenges and rivals of this level and thanked his family and friends for their support, as well as the promoter BxStr for the opportunity for this fight.
