Joey Gallo signs with the Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins will add the powerful bat and solid defense by Joey Gallo to his roster for the 2023 MLB season after both sides agreed to a one-year, $11 million contract Friday, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.

Gallo will look to bounce back after hitting .160/.280/.357 with 19 home runs and a 39.8% strikeout average over 410 at-bats between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022, where he was widely criticized and his performances ridiculed mainly in the Bronx.

Gallo, who struggled since leaving the Rangers at the 2021 trade deadline, won back-to-back Gold Gloves in the outfield from 2020-21, even making All-Star twice during his career.

Overall for his career, Gallo is hitting .199/.325/.469 with 177 home runs, 386 RBIs, 1,048 strikeouts and a 14.7 WAR.

I am a fan of the San Francisco Giants, a number one defender of Barry Bonds and a detractor of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Ronald Acuna are the future of baseball, Mike Trout is overrated, and the Astros deserved to have the World Series taken from them for their cheating. In addition to baseball, I also enjoy football, flag, basketball, and just about any other game that involves a ball or ball. I am also an amateur musician, a penniless gamer and a very nerdy person.
