Dictatorship unveils letters “Sovereignty” at the National Baseball Stadium in Nicaragua

The new name comes after Rosario Murillo publicly attacked Dennis Martínez, the former major leaguer who has strongly criticized them for human rights violations against Nicaraguans.

The dictatorship of Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Rosario María Murillo Zambrana, the couple that usurped the presidency of Nicaragua, through the Managua City Hall unveiled the letters “Sovereignty” at the National Baseball Stadiumpreviously called Dennis Martinez.

The new name comes after Rosario Murillo publicly attacked Dennis Martínez, the former Major League Baseball player who has strongly criticized them for human rights violations against Nicaraguans.

The National Stadium was inaugurated at the end of 2017 by the Daniel Ortega regime, where former major league player Dennis Martínez was present. The ball park was built with money from Taiwan, a country that donated the construction for the Central American Games, held that same year in Managua.

During the ribbon cutting and unveiling of the name of the National Stadium “Soberanía” Reyna Rueda and Enrique Armas, mayor and deputy mayor of Managua, were present, who were surrounded by Sandinista athletes.

Murillo’s attacks

This noon, Rosario Murillo led her speech to sell a “sovereign country” and recalled that this afternoon the Dennis Martínez National Baseball Stadium will be renamed “Sovereignty Stadium.”

“This afternoon the reinstallation of the National Stadium will be taking place, installing it with the name that best defines our nationality and our people ‘Sovereignty’. Soberania National Stadium and we are grateful to God because in this sovereign town, ”he said.

A couple of weeks ago, the vice president ordered the removal of the name of Dennis Martínez from the National Baseball Stadium to rename it “Roberto Clemente National Baseball Stadium”, but surprisingly she withdrew from the appointment.

“Sovereignty in my land is written every day in large letters and it is written this afternoon at the National Stadium National Sovereignty Stadium,” concluded Rosario Murillo.
