The Scientific Foundation of the College of Physicians of Burgos has delivered this Thursday the Research Dissemination Awards, in collaboration with Fundación Mutual Médica and AMA, which seek to recognize the dissemination of research work and scientific publications by the medical professionals of the College Burgos Physicians.
Thus, different categories have been awarded: Resident Internal Physicians, Hospital Medicine, Extra-hospital Medicine, with a special mention for the Best Scientific Publication, granted by Fundación Mutual Médica
In the category of Resident Internal Physicians, the first prize went to Dr. Lara Aguilar Iglesias for the publication entitled ‘Differences According to Age in the Diagnostic Performance of Cardiac Biomarkers to Predict Frailty in Patients with Acute Heart Failure’ in the journal Biomolecules 2022 Feb 2;12(2):245. The second prize went to Dr. David Abella Vallina, for the communication to Congress entitled ‘To pre-treat or not to pre-treat with dual antiplatelet agents in non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome: that is the question’, at the Health Congress Cardiovascular 2021.
In the Hospital Medicine category, the first prize went to Dr. Beatriz de la Cruz Martín for the publication entitled ‘Development of a Predictive Model for the Diagnosis of Lower Urinary Tract Obstruction in Men’, in the journal J Urol 2022 Sep; 208(3):668-675; and second prize for Dr. Alberto Delgado González. for the publication entitled ‘Explanatory Factors for Periprosthetic Infection in Total Knee Arthroplasty’, J Clin Med 2021 May 26;10(11):2315.
In the Extra Hospital Medicine category, the first prize went to Dr. César Alameda for the publication ‘Predictors for mortality due to acute exacerbation of COPD in primary care: Derivation of a clinical prediction rule in a multicentre cohort study’, published in Eur J Gen Pract 2021 Dec;27(1):211-220; and second prize for Dr. Elena Martínez Cuevas for the publication ‘Sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome in the obese and non-obese: Clinical, polysomnographical and clinical characteristics’, published in An Pediatr (Engl Ed) 2021 Sep;95(3 ):147-158.
In the Best Scientific Publication category, awarded by the FUNDACIÓN MUTUAL MÉDICA, the award went to Dr. Beatriz Sicilia for the publication ‘Self-expandable metal stents versus endoscopic balloon dilation for the treatment of strictures in Crohn’s disease (ProtDilat study): an open-label, multicentre, randomized trial’, published in Lancet Gastroenterol Hepatol. 2022 Apr;7(4):332-341.
Through this event, the Scientific Foundation of the College of Physicians rewards the research work of its members in the different branches of Medicine, and the impact it has on improving the clinical care of patients.
