New professor of Hematology at the Complutense

The head of the Hematology Service of the University Hospital October 12from Madrid, Joaquin Martinez Lopezhas obtained the position of professor of this medical specialty at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Martinez is Associate Professor of Medicine of this university since September 2018, and associate since 2005.

At the teaching level, he also has an international aspect, since he has been a visiting professor at the Harvard University (Dana Farber Institute) and at the University of Californiain San Francisco.

He also directs the H12O-CNIO Hematological Tumor Clinical Research Unit, which shares his hospital with the National Center for Oncology Research (CNIO).

In 2010 he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Toronto (Canada) in the Cell Therapy Program from Princess Margaret Hospital, where he obtained a specialist degree in cell therapy.

His clinical work is carried out fundamentally in the consultations of patients with multiple myeloma and of myeloproliferative neoplasms, a field in which he is an international expert. He is also scientific director of the CRIS Foundation against cancer.
