Lidom formalizes confiscation in favor of the Licey

The Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (Lidom) made official the confiscation in favor of the Tigres del Licey of the match held on November 6 against the Águilas Cibaeñas.

The Licey had filed a protest in relation to the illegal use of the Águilas starting pitcher Roenis Elías, who occupied the position of imported instead of Geoff Hartlieb. The latter was placed on the paternity list in order to make room for Elias.

However, in subsequent investigations by the blue team and provided as evidence in their allegation, it was discovered that Hartlieb had attended another activity that had nothing to do with being a recent father.

Eagles Appeal

The leadership of the Eagles on December 14 delivered an appeal against the decision made by the League chaired by Vitelio Mejía.

Custom ratification

In its public communication, Lidom states that “the official league compiler has been instructed to make useful or necessary updates so that the new situation in relation to that game is duly recorded in the league statistics.”

The match had been won by the Águilas with a score of 6-5 thanks to a home run by Jerar Encarnación that left the Tigres on the field. The stage was the Cibao stadium in Santiago de los Caballeros.
