Amid tears and applause, Joel Graterol said goodbye to his teammates from América de Cali

Joel Graterol said goodbye to América de Cali this Saturday after the institution announced his departure. The Venezuelan goalkeeper was seen in tears and conveyed an emotional message to his teammates.

Joel Graterol arrived in 2019 as one of the first reinforcements of the ‘scarlet’ box after having won that year’s title against Junior.

The Venezuelan goalkeeper played 85 games with América de Cali in what was the Colombian League, Copa Libertadores and Copa Colombia. The goalkeeper conceded 88 goals defending the colors of the ‘Devils’.

Graterol was champion with América de Cali in 2020. In that final that Santa Fé was beaten and thus he was able to raise his 15th star.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper said goodbye this Saturday to his colleagues and collaborators at the Cascajal headquarters. Graterol’s future is said to be on track for MLS.
