The city of Maracaibo enjoyed an epic comeback for the Águilas del Zulia at the Luis Aparicio “El Grande” Stadium against Caribes de Anzoátegui. Both teams were looking for a victory to be among the first five places in the standings.

“La Tribu” started winning with an overwhelming 6-0 for the sixth inning: two singles by José Azócar and Niuman Romero in the third, a sacrifice fly by Anduw Monasterio in the fifth and a rally with three lines in the sixth thanks to a double by Kevin Vicuña and two singles by José Azócar and Niuman Romero caused discontent among the local fans.

The raptors would react in that same episode with a forced out to Ali Castillo, a hit to Jesús Chirinos with the bases loaded, a single by José Herrera and a home run by Ángel Reyes with two on base. This would turn the slate upside down and bring joy back to the Zulian capital.

Things would go 6-8 with a walk to José Herrera with the bases loaded in the seventh inning, but the tie would come with a force out to José Azócar and a single by Andruw Monasterio. For the last act, the locals would load the bases and José Herrera would hit a single to right field to give his team the winning run.

In this way, the Águilas snatch the fourth position from the Navegantes del Magallanes and are six games ahead of the Leones del Caracas and the Cardenales de Lara.
