In a new talk in the cycle “Scienceappeal, ideas that attract”, the Doctor of Microbiology and Immunology, Patricio Manque, will address the scope of this new approach and the technologies that allow repairing defective genes and curing patients who today have no hope.

“The sequencing of the human genome, considered one of the great feats of humanity, gave rise to the genomic revolution that had, among other premises, the digitization of life and the birth of a new medicine: precision medicine. This is based on the use of genomic information from the patient to develop individualized therapies for each one, substantially improving people’s quality of life”, said the also Rector of the Universidad Mayor and who founded the first Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics in Chile. .
