The trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard: the most controversial phrases

What Depp said

1. “He threw the bottle and it shattered, then I looked and realized that the tip of my finger had been cut off“.
In this way, the actor explained why, since 2015, his right index finger looks incomplete. A fight triggered the cut that led to a shattered bone and two operations, confirmed by doctors.

2 “The only person I’ve ever abused is myself. I’ve never hit a woman in my life.”
Several recordings of fights between the couple were heard in court. At the time Laurel Anderson, therapist of both, said that the abuse was from both parties. It was not uncommon for the two of them to be hit at times.

3. “I, Johnny Depp, a man, am also a victim of domestic violence.”
In one of those recordings, Amber is heard demanding that Johnny say that he is violated despite being a man. In the trial, to be clear, the histrion was questioned about his response on that occasion.

The six-week trial was attended daily by Depp fans, some of whom queued for hours into the night to secure one of the limited audience seats.

Judge Penney Azcarate threatened to expel viewers during Heard’s emotional testimony Thursday.

“If I hear a sound again, I will clear the gallery and we will continue this testimony with no one in the room,” he warned. “Understood?”.
