This is the palace of more than 100 million dollars of George Clooney
The only link that unites the actor George Clooney with royalty is his friendship with Prince Harry and his incredible Villa Oleandra, located in a small town on Lake Como, called Laglio, Italy, which looks like a palace. There he takes refuge with his wife, the Lebanese Amal Alamuddinwhom he married in 2014 and have two children together.
The property’s history dates back to 1720 and it was completely renovated almost 160 years later when it passed into the hands of the Italian Vitali family. In the 20th century, it was acquired for the first time by an American, specifically the millionaire Henry John Heinz, the inventor of the sauce that bears his name.
The businessman died in 1919 and both his company and the property passed from generation to generation, until the last heirs wanted to sell it. It was the year 2001 when negotiations began with George Clooneywho finally bought it months later for more than $100 million dollars and uses it as a summer villa with his family.
Neither the Heinz family nor George Clooney they opened the palace to the public, but you can see from the outside that it is surrounded by a huge garden that has very tall trees, a large number of flowers and a fountain. Also a swimming pool overlooking Lake Como and a tennis court, where the actor practices this sport.
Villa Oleandra has 25 rooms, ideal for receiving all your friends, an equipped gym and a private jetty to the lake, for the couple to use their boat. One of the eccentricities of the mansion is that it has a room called “Pizza Room”, in which only this recipe of different varieties is cooked.
Many celebrities have once stayed there, including their friends Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and Matt Damon. Also, Amal Alamuddin’s father celebrated a birthday there and the palace was offered as a location to film scenes for “Ocean’s 12”.
The “Syriana” actor would have put the palace in 2015 and being so reserved with his privacy, he did not reveal if he finally achieved it. “George loves the area and the people who live there, but he’s aware of the attention he gets when he’s in town. He’s had a great offer on the mansion, which he’s considering before buying another,” sources close to Page Six.
