As we saw at the award ceremony for the Oscar this year, the slap he gave Will Smith a Chris Rock It marked a before and after in the career of the interpreter actor of “Soy Leyenda”.

Let’s remember that it all started because the comedian Chris Rockk started making jokes towards Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, which were not at all to his liking, so due to the stress of the moment, he decided to give him a big slap on stage, an act that immediately caused a worldwide stir.

That night, Will Smith was named as Best Actor for his performance in “The Williams Method”, however, this went into the background due to his action, which had strong repercussions on his work. Strong rumors were heard that the productions in which he would participate, such as the film “Fast and Loose” from Netflix either “Bad Boys 4”which would belong to Sony.

Due to these events, many people believed that it would be the end of the actor’s career. However, regarding the production of “Bad Boys 4”, the company denied the rumors and warned that the filming of the film will take place.

The uncertain future of Will Smith

In a recent interview with the president of Sony, Thomas Rothmannthey asked him if the movie “Bad Boys 4” could not go ahead due to the slap in the face of which Will Smith was the protagonist, to which he replied that it was not as believed.

“That movie has been in development and still is. There were no brakes to pump because the car wasn’t moving. That was a very unfortunate thing that happened. And I don’t think it’s really my place to comment except to say that I’ve known Will Smith since many years ago and I know he is a good person”Rothman commented.

In addition, he added that everything that happened was an example of a good person going through a bad time and added that “I think his apology and regret are genuine, and I believe in forgiveness and redemption.”

And it is that before this interview, the film producer was asked Jerry Bruckheimer about what he thinks would happen with Smith’s future, to which he replied: “The people who are higher up have to make that decision”. So, as we can see, apparently not everything will be negative for the interpreter of “Men in Black” and his career as an actor continues.

It should be noted that the third installment of the “Bad Boys” production was a great success, raising 426 million dollars around the world, all this before the pandemic began.
