In the recent delivery of the Oscars, one of the most memorable events took place, and not for the better, in the history of these awards. At one point comedian Chris Rock made an unfortunate joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness, as she suffers from alopecia. For Will Smith that they made fun of his wife’s medical condition was not funny and although at first it seemed that he would only laugh out of commitment, suddenly, to everyone’s surprise, he got up and gave the comedian a good slap. And despite winning an Oscar that very night, it goes without saying that Smith paid dearly for that mistake.

Recently on the show David Letterman, My Next Guess Needs No Introduction, Will Smith He was the guest and in his interview he commented that on one occasion he had a vision, induced by drugs, of how his life and his career vanished. He comments that he was never into drugs, but that he really got involved with ayahuasca. This is a type of drug that is used in tribes of the Amazon, and he comments that he had 14 “trips”. In one of them is that he had this fateful premonition. He recounts his experience in the interview (via UPROXX):
I drank it, and it usually takes like 45 minutes for it to hit you. And I’m sitting there and you always feel like ‘maybe he won’t hit me this time’. So I’m drinking and sitting there and all of a sudden out of nowhere I start to see my money fly away and my house fly away and my career fly away.
The most disconcerting thing is that this was not the worst part of the vision. Smith begins to describe how suddenly he heard her daughter Willow cry out for help as if she was in danger and suddenly she didn’t care about anything else. Giving you a new perspective on the things that really matter. The actor describes the rest of the vision, after hearing the voice of his daughter:

Then slowly, I stopped worrying about my money, I just wanted to catch up with Willow, and I stopped worrying about my house, and I stopped worrying about my career.
As bizarre as the experience was, Will Smith he says it helped him get a new perspective on life and on himself. He came out of the “trip” with a new kind of mental toughness that makes him feel capable of facing any misfortune. He speaks as if after having that vision he recognized in himself a resiliency that he did not know. He mentions it like this:
That whatever happens in my life, I can handle it. I can handle the loss of anyone, I can handle whatever goes wrong in my life, I can handle anything in my marriage, I can handle whatever life has to offer.
And that’s how deep the interview with David Letterman. With everything and the incident at the Oscars, it is difficult to imagine that this is the end of the career of Will Smith. It must be remembered that he is also a producer and still has several active projects, as is the case with the Cobra Kai series. 100%. It may take a while to get his acting career back on track and especially his image, but without a doubt, he is still relevant in the medium. It is in the same interview that he describes how complicated it can be to lead a public life because at one point you are three people at the same time. There is the person you want to be, the person you want to be seen, and the person you really are.
