The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 movie is on the way, and after much speculation regarding the firing and reinstatement of director James Gunn, the end of filming was recently confirmed. One of the new faces that joined the cast is that of Will Poulter, who would be playing Adam Warlock, one of the most interesting characters in comics. The actor is committed to the project, so much so that his physical change has become a topic of interest on the Internet.

It’s in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – 82% where we first hear Adam’s name. Every comic book fan knew at that point what Adam was talking about. There were even some who suspected that the character could enter the plot of the saga of infinity, because in the vignette version of him he is the key to defeating Thanos. But it didn’t happen, and like other things that are anticipated and then forgotten in Marvel, it seemed that we would not see the character anymore.
Fortunately, the production Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 was announced and the news included the introduction of the actor who would play Adam Warlock, Will Poulter. At first the news was not entirely well received, because in people’s memory Poulter was the goofy boy from Who *&$%! are the Millers? – 47%. The choice seemed out of place, until the actor himself demonstrated all the training and physical change he underwent for the role and then people quickly changed their minds.
The actor seems very excited about the idea of joining the MCU, and especially in the world of the Guardians. He talks about how much he likes his movies in particular and that being a part of his world is something that excites him, especially since it involves working under the direction of James Gunnwhom he greatly admires. In interview with The Playlist (via heroic hollywood) comments on how the casting process went:
Don’t leave without reading: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn announces the end of filming with an emotional message
I first auditioned in June last year , and that was the first time I auditioned, and then I got the part in September, I think. And then they started shooting in December. I didn’t know what character, initially, I was auditioning for. I knew closer to the moment [del casting] who was he reading for? Although I wasn’t familiar with Adam Warlock beforehand, he was very familiar with ‘Guardians’, and it was my favorite ‘planet’ within the Marvel Universe. I’m a big fan of the tone and the creativity and the work of James Gunn and a lot of the actors, you know, that I can now call colleagues, and I’m very grateful for that.
And we all know that once you’re inside the MCU, you’re likely to have a job for a while. The actor is aware that he can expect several projects playing the same character and although he still does not know what awaits him, the idea excites him. When he talks about Adam’s future he comments:
I do not know. And honestly I don’t know what awaits me. I’m waiting to find out, and that’s the honest truth, but needless to say, I’d love to go on a journey with this character.
We will have to wait until next year to see debut Will Poulter in Marvel. But while there are many projects on the way, the closest is the premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder where we will see the return of Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, and the introduction of the villainous Gorr, the butcher of Gods, played by Christian Bale.
