Ed Sheeran says Taylor Swift is “someone I’d definitely call if things were really fucked up”

Songwriters Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift maintain a close friendship. With numerous collaborations between them, their relationship goes beyond just music. In fact, Sheeran considers Swift a great friend in a city where it’s hard to find them.

In an interview with GQ UK, Sheeran discussed his friendship with the pop star and how he draws inspiration from his work.
“You know Taylor and I have been friends for ten years now; we have seen ourselves evolve as people, ”Sheeran shared. “I thought what he did with the two albums he released during the pandemic was how the albums will be released in the future. That’s how I’d like to do it ”.
“Taylor is just someone I would definitely call if things were really fucked up,” the singer continued. “This isn’t just an exercise in dropping names and sounding like shit; I remember being in Los Angeles two years into my career and all my friends were just famous people and I was so… unhappy.
“I came to this realization where I said to myself, ‘Nobody here really loves me.’ They loved the idea of me, but nobody really loves me. So I left. Forever, ”Sheeran concluded.

Sheeran and Swift have been friends since 2012 after Sheeran found out that the “Love Story” singer was a fan of his music. Sheeran met Swift’s manager in Nashville, which led to the two songwriters collaborating.
The couple wrote a few songs together at the time. But only two have been released so far: “Everything Has Changed,” from Swift’s 2012 album, Red; and “Run,” which premiered last year Red (customized version).
They also toured together. Swift brought Sheeran with her as an opening act for North American dates on her Red Tour in 2013.
Even after the tour ended, Swift and Sheeran still found time to perform together, showing up as surprise guests at each other’s concerts and singing along at the 2014 Victoria’s Secret fashion show.
In 2016, the couple teamed up again for “End Game”. The single from his album reputation also features rapper Future.

Their latest collaboration? Sheeran called Swift for a remix of his song “The Joker and the Queen”. They even enlisted the child actors from the “Everything Has Changed” video to reprise their roles.
“This video reminds me of our friendship all these years,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “I can’t believe Jack and Ava from the Everything Has Changed video came back and did it !! Nostalgic paradise! “
Friends are constantly posting each other’s work on social media, showing support for singles and albums. And they often spent time together at the awards ceremony. He also attended his famous 4th of July parties at his Rhode Island estate. Even after a decade, it is clear that Swift and Sheeran still count themselves among their closest friends.
