Adam Driver, Laurence Fishburne & More Join Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Megalopolis’

Despite having in his filmography some of the best films in history, Francis Ford Coppola He has been trying to get one of his passionate projects off the ground for a couple of decades, Megalopolisbut has failed to get the support of major studios.

For a time the project seemed to be lost, but Coppola decided to take out 100 million dollars from his own pocket to finance the tape. Now more than ever Megalopolis feels real with the main cast announcement, Adam Driver, Laurence Fishburne, Nathalie Emmanuel, Forest Whitaker Y Jon Voight.

Megalopolis will follow an architect who seeks to rebuild New York City as a utopia after an accident nearly destroyed it. It has also been described as reminiscent of the fall of Rome into a modern society. Coppola has declared that he is not thinking of recovering the money that he will invest in the film, but that his plan is to leave something for future generations, something that they can discuss and reflect on over time.

For now, Megalopolis continues to take shape, other actors Coppola has considered are rumored to be Cate Blanchett, James Caan, Christian Bale, Zendaya, Michelle Pfeiffer Y Jessica Chastain.
