The Gods of Thunder in the world of the PAPER HEROES!. Empire ( released a new image of Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor/Jane Foster (the enchanted hammer Mjölnir included) and Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson in Thor: Love and Thunder (Thor: Love and Thunder, 2022), to be released on July 8 (United States).

Co-writer and director Taika Waititi (who plays the Kronan warrior Korg through motion capture), told the British magazine about Dr. Foster, who has appeared in the films Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (Thor: A Dark World, 2013) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), as well as in the animated series What If…? (2021-Present), set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU): “About eight years have passed. She’s had a completely different life, and then the love of your life comes back on the scene, and she’s now dressed like you. She is truly crazy for Thor.”

Waititi said, “I didn’t know we were going to use the story of the Mighty Thor character until we started working on the actual story. He was writing and it was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to bring Jane back into the story?’ You don’t want Natalie to come back and play the same character walking around in science gear. You know, while Thor is flying, she stays on Earth, stamping her foot and saying, “When will she come back?” That’s boring. You want her to be part of the adventure.”

And I continue: “Natalie is very funny in real life. She’s a bit of a goofball and she has a great sense of humor, and I don’t think that was exploited enough in the early movies.”

Set in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it co-stars Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, Taika Waititi as the voice of Korg, and Russell Crowe like Zeus.

Synopsis: The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he has ever faced: a search for inner peace. But his retreat is interrupted by a galactic assassin known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who, to Thor’s surprise, inexplicably wields her magical hammer, Mjölnir, like Mighty Thor. Together, they embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to unravel the mystery of the Butcher God’s revenge and stop him before it’s too late.
