Camilo warmed up the preview from the metaverse of the Roblox platform

Camilo, the Colombian artist, two-time American Grammy nominee and five-time Latin Grammy winner, became the first Latin artist to give a virtual concert on the Roblox platform. He was part of a “preview” of the famous awards, called “Grammy Week on Roblox”.

It was an innovative fully virtual experience that marked the Academy’s first foray into the metaverse, and was Roblox’s first musical activation, following the example of other platforms that have included recitals, for example Minecraft.

Roblox is a global platform where millions of people come together every day to imagine, create and share experiences with each other, in self-generated immersive 3D worlds. The theme of this experience this time was Las Vegas, in order to celebrate the premiere of the ceremony, now in its 64th annual edition, which will take place tomorrow, Sunday, April 3 in Las Vegas, with television on TNT at 9:00 p.m.

Camilo closed a series of virtual shows

Camilo, who is nominated this year for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album for My hands, He was in charge of closing the experience, which included personal meetings with the avatar of various artists, chats, treasure hunts and virtual merchandising items to buy or win.

“The Grammy Awards are iconic, and we’re thrilled to bring the most popular musical extravaganza of the year to fans around the world,” says Jon Vlassopulous, Vice President and Global Head of Music for Roblox. “We are thrilled to introduce Camilo, our first Latino virtual concert artist on Roblox, giving the community new music and genres to discover.”

To accompany the Colombian in this virtual experience, it was only necessary to install the free Roblox application, create an avatar and make sure to attend the premiere of the concert, live on Roblox.com or through the Roblox app.

In addition to Camilo’s performance, this virtual experience had meetings with the artists Glass Animals, Walker Hayes and Sofia Carson in the previous days.

The favorite in the Latin Grammys

In November of last year, Camilo was the top winner of the Latin Grammy 2021 by taking four awards in various musical genres, but failed to win the general categories. The Colombian singer dedicated one of his awards to Indigo, the son he will have with Evaluna Montaner.

“I want to dedicate this award to Indigo so that when she is born she feels proud, proud or proud of her father,” said the singer upon receiving the last Latin Grammy 2021 award.

Camilo, who headed the list of nominees with 10 mentions, won the awards for best pop song for life of richBest Urban Fusion/Interpretation for Tattoo (remix)with Rauw Alejandro.

The Colombian artist was also the star in the category for best tropical song for “Dios lo que tú”, which he co-wrote for Ricardo Montaner and Juan Luis Guerra, and best pop vocal album for Mis Manos.
