Congress of Advances in Medicine will focus on the post-COVID era
In the last two years, many activities have been paralyzed due to the confinement as a result of COVID-19, including the International Congress on Advances in Medicine, which has been held for 25 years. However, due to improved conditions, this year it will take place in a hybrid way, focusing on what paralyzed it and now seems to give us a new life: the post-COVID-19 era.
Heart disease, brain damage and pulmonary complications are some of the consequences that people had after the disease, reported Jaime Andrade Villanueva, director of the Civil Hospitals of Guadalajara. But it is also part of the topics that will be discussed in the Congress in its different axes.
Andrade Villanueva stressed that since the pandemic continues, although with fewer cases, the event will take place from April 6 to 9 predominantly hybridbut with a solid face-to-face part, especially in the areas where the virus has affected the most.
Maria Elena González, president of the XXIII Congress, explained that there will be 39 disciplinary medical update modules on COVID-19, such as mental health, pulmonology, treatment of brain tumors and cerebrovascular disease.
In addition, there will be more than 500 presentations with professors of national and international stature., as well as 12 pre-congress courses. The latter will all be face-to-face and free of charge.
Although it focuses mainly on health professionals, the Congress will also have a day for communication professionals: the Media and Health Symposium: Challenges of Journalism and Communication in the Post-Covid era. This is also free of charge but with prior registration.
Within the Congress of Advances in Medicine, the X International Congress of Nursing Hospital Civil de Guadalajara 2022 will also take place.
Its executive president, Silvia Morales, reported that it is titled “Nursing Innovations in the Post-Covid Era”, and will have three thematic axes: Transforming Nursing Care in the COVID-19 Patient; Nursing in Times of Pandemic; and Innovation and Future in Nursing Care in the Post-COVID Era.
