Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence has injured herself on the set of the Netflix film “Don’t Look Up”, according to US media reports. Directed by Adam McKay, the action flick is currently being filmed in Brockton, Massachusetts. The actress is said to have been hit by flying splinters after a planned explosion.
The 30-year-old “Silver Linings” star was injured in the eye after a trash can flew through a window in one scene, according to consistent reports. Lawrence had apparently not left the area in advance. The shimmering glass splinters are said to have hit her eyelid. Despite first aid, the eye simply did not stop bleeding afterwards. Filming was suspended for a day due to Jennifer Lawrence’s injury, it said. Nevertheless, the actress should be well again in the meantime.

The film, for which McKay also wrote the screenplay, also stars such as Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett and Jonah Hill. Not much is known about the plot of “Don’t Look Up” so far, according to US media reports, the film is about two unknown scientists, played by Lawrence and DiCaprio, who are going on a media tour to warn humanity of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth.
Due to the corona pandemic, filming was interrupted last year – now it has been continued. There is no date for the start of the film so far. But: Despite blockbuster qualities, the flick will be released directly on Netflix this year.
