Selena Gomez dares to take a sad look back

At a young age, Selena Gomez rushes from film set to film set. The actress and singer now looks back on her time as a child star and confesses: “I didn’t know what I was doing.”

Selena Gomez returns to her roots as a TV actress and will star in a series lead role in “Only Murders in the Building” for the first time since 2012 on “The Wizards of Waverly Place”. At a press conference, Gomez spoke openly about her early Disney career, which began for her at the age of ten, according to “People” magazine.

“I sold my life to Disney at a very young age,” Gomez said. She had no idea at that moment what this meant for her: “I was a child, I didn’t know what I was doing, I was just running around on set.” Now she is much more mature and a more demanding actress than at the beginning of her career. She now feels like a sponge: “I soak up all the wisdom I can pick up.”

The Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” is a comedy-thriller series about three neighbors in New York City who are interested in true-crime stories and want to catch a murderer. The idea comes from Steve Martin (75), who also takes on one of the leading roles. The broadcast is planned from August 31, 2021 on the US streaming service Hulu, in German-speaking countries the series can be seen on Disney+.

Gomez has also been creative musically in recent months. More than ten years after her last Spanish-language song, the singer surprised her fans earlier this year with the single “De Una Vez” – only the second song Gomez has released in her second language. In 2010 she sang a Spanish version of the title song of her second album “A Year Without Rain” (“Un Año Sin Lluvia”). At the beginning of 2011, the 28-year-old had already announced an entire album in Spanish on Twitter. Referring to this, Gomez now shared her old tweet, commenting, “I think it was worth the wait.”
