Angelina Jolie extends her claws
Angelina Jolie is currently engaged in a tough custody battle with her ex Brad Pitt. No wonder, after all, the “lion mom” comes out with her when it comes to her six children. Not the only private insight she now gives.
Angelina Jolie is not only a Hollywood star but also the mother of six children – three biological and three adopted. She has now spoken about the special relationship with her offspring in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper.
“I’m very protective of my children,” the actress explains in the interview. “When my children were young, there were situations when the lion mom in me came to light.” Suddenly, she realized: “There is an animal in me that wants to protect its young.”
When their own children are young, it’s more about protecting them physically, Jolie notes. Later, on the other hand, you suddenly think about how they are doing mentally. “It will then become more important who they surround themselves with and who could destabilize their lives or throw them off track altogether,” says the 45-year-old.
Stories with morality
In the meantime, however, her children also took care of her in many situations. “They often remind me to eat something and say, ‘Mom, you haven’t eaten anything today. You should change that as soon as possible.'”
She loves having her family around her all the time, Jolie explains. The time with the children is the perfect balance. Together, the family sits on the floor and decorates books or jumps on the trampoline. In addition, she reads specially created stories to her children in the evening, the actress reveals. “I like to tell them stories that end up with morality. In it you can find moments of inner peace that fill you with love and make you happy.”
No statements about Brad Pitt
Her failed relationship with Brad Pitt and the ongoing divorce proceedings were apparently not mentioned in the “Bild” interview. It is also about the custody of the still underage Pax (17), Zahara (16), Shiloh (15), Vivienne and Knox (each 12). Maddox (19), the eldest child of the two, is said to be excluded.
In the future, the couple will probably share custody of their children on an equal footing. This is said to have been determined by a US court in a preliminary decision at the end of May, as several US media had reported unanimously.
Pitt and Jolie had been dating since 2005 and were once considered a Hollywood dream couple. They married in 2014. The two-part divorce proceedings have been running since 2016, while the two have been officially divorced since 2019.
