Every year again: On June 21 and 22, the “Prime Day” organized by Amazon takes place – an event where Prime customers can get exclusive discounts and profitable offers at the shipping giant. To further promote the event, Amazon Music launched the “Prime Day Show” this year, which can be accessed online for free for 30 days starting June 17, 2021 – even without a Prime membership. The “Prime Day Show” is three films each by Billie Eilish, H.E.R. and Kid Cudi, which aesthetically stage their music.
Billie Eilish plays new songs from her upcoming album
According to the official “Prime Day Show” announcement, all three artists are jointly responsible for the production of their works and have even directed some of them. “Prime Day Show x Billie Eilish” takes viewers to Paris, where the 19-year-old pop star will perform new tracks from her upcoming second album HAPPIER THAN EVER. Oscar winner H.E.R. stages her cinematic-musical work in the well-known Dunbar Hotel in L.A., which was considered the center of the Black community in the 1930s and 1940s, after being inhabited by African-American artists such as Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington and Lena Horne. H.E.R. will play songs from their new album BACK OF MY MIND.
Kid Cudi performs with the “International Space Orchestra”
Last but not least, the audience can also look forward to the film by rapper Kid Cudi, who goes into intergalactic spheres. It is said that the musician will take the title of his latest record MAN ON THE MOON III literally and perform the songs together with the “International Space Orchestra” – an orchestra consisting only of scientists from the SETI Institute, NASA Ames Research Center and the International Space University. All three works are to be about 30 minutes long and result in a composition of film aesthetics and live performance.
