Capri is the most beautiful island in the world!
Emperor Tiberius (26 AD) was already here, later came German industrialists, artists, Alfred Krupp, Rainer Maria Rilke, Axel Munthe. In the 60s, the jet set vacationed on the rocky island: Jackie Kennedy, Valentino, Sophia Loren. And a few days ago, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom celebrated at the legendary nightclub “Taverna Anema e Core”.
Blue grotto, the Faraglioni rocks, the romantic Anacapri, the Via Tragara with the breathtaking views – all this is spectacular. But: Capri is not only beautiful – Capri is magical! Already on arrival at the port, everything is buzzing, there are no cars, only extra long convertible taxis. You feel like you’re in a movie from the 50s.
Why Capri, why now?
The food is world class, whether spaghetti vongole or simple pizza (which, by the way, was invented here). The Italians are super friendly and you don’t have the crazy prices of Mykonos or the noisy audience of Ibiza. Capri is a piece of a perfect world.
The focal point of the island is the mini-small Piazzetta with exactly three bars, where EVERYONE meets or strolls past.
THE new store is the shoe store “Aquazzura” by Edgardo Osorio, with the artwork sandals that Duchess Meghan also wears. Decoration fans will get their money’s worth in the exclusive ceramics shop “The Sea Gull”.
And there is a new beach club where everyone is running, the “Il Riccio” with the pop-up store of “Dior”. Otherwise, Capri is firmly in Italian designer hands. “Prada”, “Etro”, “Pucci”, “Gucci” – the shops have their own Capri collections.
THE meeting place, still, again and again, is the “La Fontelina” at the Faraglioni rocks. Sun loungers and tables are even harder to get hold of in 2021 than usual, because Capri is currently being overrun. The American aristocracy has arrived united and the European high society. Heidi Klum, Barbara Meier and Sylvie Meis came to the Unicef charity of the online shop “Luisa Via Roma” last weekend.
Corona? Big topic and all precautions are meticulously adhered to. The pandemic is also omnipresent in paradise…
