Angelina Jolie shows us the caftan trend in Venice
In the latest pictures of Hollywood stars spending the summer on the Mediterranean, we show you Angelina Jolie in Venice. After a stay in Paris, the actress and former cover star of British VOGUE travelled with her children to Italy, where the family lives in the chic “Hotel Cipriani” in the picturesque town.
During her stay, Jolie took time for a ride on the opulent Venice Simplon-Orient Express with French artist JR, who also captured the Oscar winner in a series of spontaneous portraits on the rooftops of Venice, with the dome of Santa Maria della Salute in the background.
Angelina Jolie wears her favorite caftan
Jolie’s chosen look for the lo-fi shoot? Her favorite caftan – the same one she wore on the cover of British VOGUE at her historic six-bedroom, ten-bathroom Los Feliz estate. In addition to a trench coat by Dior and a tailor-made dress by Max Mara that she wore in the magazine, the actress and filmmaker presented some of her favorite vintage pieces and cherished garments, including a dress from her childhood, which she now wears as a top, and a simple caftan by Brunello Cucinelli, which she desperately wanted to pack in her suitcase for her trip to Europe.
She was photographed in a robe with Dolce & Gabbana mules and her Saint-Laurent bag, but did without both to playfully pose barefoot in front of JR’s lens as the sun sets over Venice. Angelina’s action star roots (she played the famous Lara Croft in 2001) may have made themselves felt, as she navigated elegantly across the sloping roof without worrying about dizziness or the prospect of loose roof tiles. Let’s hope she treated herself to a gelato afterwards.
