On September 3, 2021, a remake of “Cinderella” will be released and none other than Camila Cabello was able to secure the leading role.
What lasts a long time will finally be good
Already in April 2019, it was officially confirmed from Hollywood that Charles Perrault’s fairy tale “Cinderella” is to be re-filmed. And this time none other than Camila Cabello was able to secure the leading role. As in the original, the Cuban-American singer will fight with her stepmother, go to a ball and fall head over heels in love with a prince.
Or will the project announced two years ago actually go the normal way and tell the original story?
A slightly different Cinderella
Kay Cannon, who had already written the scripts for the musical films “Pitch Perfect”, was hired as a director and shot the last scenes of the remake with Cabello in May 2021. But the film will not be based entirely on the original, instead Cinderella is a self-confident young woman who does not let her stepmother butter her up and does everything to achieve her goals – also in a musical way. Camila herself has contributed various songs for the soundtrack and will sing and dance her way through the scenes.
In addition to the singer, we will also see Cabello’s colleague Idina Menzel as Cinderella’s stepmother, Billy Porter as the fairy godmother, Pierce Brosnan as the king and James Corden as one of the mice. On September 3, 2021, the film “Cinderella” will be released on Amazon Prime. You can already watch an official trailer today:
