Why Women Kill
Just two days ago, we reported that Allison Tolman (“Fargo”) and Nick Frost (“Into the Badlands”) will be the new lead actors of the second season of “Why Women Kill.” According to TVLine, Lana Parrilla and Matthew Daddario also take on roles.
The second season of the anthology series will take place in 1949 and will deal with what it means to be beautiful and to maintain the hidden truth behind a façade.
Parrilla will appear as Rita. She is married to an older man named Carlo Castillo, whose death she is waiting for. Meanwhile, as a sardonic woman with an iron hand, she runs the garden club and has fun with a young lover.
Daddario, whose sister Alexandra had a role in the first season, will be seen as Scooter, an up-and-coming, charming, if not entirely intelligent actor and lover of Rita.
In addition, B. K. Cannon, known from “Switched at Birth”, was cast as Dee, the daughter of Tolman and Frost’s characters. In addition to the three already mentioned, Jordane Christie “Containment” was also able to secure a role as a private dective vern. Most recently, Veronica Falcón (“Queen Of the South”) plays Catherine, Carlos’ unmarried daughter. She hates Rita with all her heart and looks for a way to destroy her.
Lara Parrilla is best known as Regina Mills through “Once Upon a Time”. Matthew Daddario appeared as Alec Lightwood in “Shadowhunters”.
Behind “Why Women Kill” is “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry. While the series runs in the USA on CBS All Access, the rights to it are with TVNOW.
