The countdown is on: On August 4, Duchess Meghan celebrates her 40th birthday. And the preparations for this special day are already in full swing. So that everything will be as the former actress imagines, she has sought help. But not by anyone, but by the party planner of the stars.
As the British “Mirror” reports, Colin Cowie is helping the mother of two. The 59-year-old had been recommended to her by her friend Oprah Winfrey, but had also organized events for Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise and Kim Kardashian.
But Meghan probably doesn’t want to go quite as big as the latter in particular likes to. “Meghan wants a small meeting,” an unnamed source is quoted as saying.
A garden party with lots of celebrities
Around 65 people are said to be on the guest list, only “closest friends and family”, including allegedly Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who live in the neighborhood, of course Oprah Winfrey and Meghan’s friends Serena Williams and Jessica Mulroney as well as her mom Doria. From the British relatives, however, no one is expected. The relationship with the Royal Family is said to have been strained since the “Megxit”.
In any case, there is enough space, because the celebration is to take place on the Estate of the Sussexes in Montecito, California, where Meghan and Prince Harry have been living with their children Archie and Lilibet for about a year. The Duchess is said to have wished for a garden party.
Since the royal couple attach great importance to sustainability, all food and drinks served are said to come from the Santa Barbara region and neighboring wineries. Harry, on the other hand, is said to have personally commissioned the cake from a local pastry chef – decorated with frosting and flowers.
