Movie News August 2021: Highlights on Sky Show, Apple TV+, Disney+ and Netflix

If you missed the live-action adaptation of Cruella De Vil’s Origin Story in the cinema or wanted to save the VIP fee on Disney+, you can look forward to it. Cruella will be available to all Disney+ subscribers on August 27. As a contrast program, there is in the Stars tile on Disney+ the exclusive John Cena comedy Vacation Friends see. As always, Sky Show delivers a huge range of current feature films, which sometimes differ greatly in terms of quality and content. In addition to mega-blockbusters such as the already launched Godzilla vs. Kong or the Oscar-winning drama Judas and the Black Messiah, comes with the thriller The Little Things another hot Warner Bros. title for Sky Cinema, which was shown in cinemas in many countries at the beginning of the year, but celebrates its premiere directly on Sky Show in this country. The same goes for the HBO Max Original Locked Down, in which the topic of Corona already plays a role. Over at Apple TV+, there’s only one reboot, a movie called coda. And he seems to have it all. Certified Fresh with a fabulous score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and a mega strong score of 7.9 on IMDb are more than just indicators that this movie is something special. The film revolves around teenager Ruby, who as CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) is the only hearing person in her deaf family. Netflix, for its part, relies on its proven mix of family-friendly movies and titles that specifically appeal to an adult audience. Vivo – Full of life is the very first musical adventure of Sony Animation Studios, which is based on Hotel Transylvania, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Mitchells against the machines have already delivered some hits. Tenet-Star John David Washington is on Netflix in the gripping action thriller Beckett , which will premiere on August 4 as the opening film of the Locarno Film Festival. Jason Momoa (Aquaman) is in August in addition to the series Lake – Realm of the Blind also in the thriller Sweet Girl in which his film daughter, played by Isabela Merced (Suddenly family, Dora and the Golden City), must protect against sinister fellows. Finally, there is also the teen comedy on Netflix One like no one as a remake of One like no other from 1999 – you guessed it – unceremoniously reversed gender roles. Of course, this has to be up to date and sounds something like this: An influencer who specializes in make-up bets that she can make an unpopular classmate the ball king. TikTok star Addison Rae makes her film debut alongside Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai), which is in One like no one the ugly duckling gives.
