Today, Sunday, July 11, the six-part HBO miniseries The White Lotus starts – also at the German Sky Ticket and Sky Q in the original version. The satirical summer comedy follows the work of the employees of a fictional vacation resort in Hawaii as well as the week-long stay of the spoiled guests. With each passing day, the dark revelations in the supposed paradise accumulate.
The tourist cast is led by actress Connie Britton, who is known from series such as Friday Night Lights, Nashville, 9-1-1 and Dirty John. Alexandra Daddario (True Detective) is also there. The same goes for Murray Bartlett (Looking), Fred Hechinger (“Eighth Grade“), Jake Lacy (The Office), Brittany O’Grady (Little Voice), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure), Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Steve Zahn (Treme) and Jennifer Coolidge (2 Broke Girls), who appeared as Stifler’s Mom in “American Pie==See also==*
The whole thing is written and directed by Mike White (Enlightened). The filming of “The White Lotus” ran in autumn 2020 on the American dream island of Hawaii. The production team also includes White’s old colleague David Bernad and Nick Hall (We Are Who We Are).
Francesca Orsi, HBO’s vice head of programming, said of the new series: “Mike is an unparalleled talent whose groundbreaking work has transformed both film and television. We couldn’t be happier to work with him again on another funny and empathetic piece that exposes the complexities of life and humanity itself.”
White himself says: “It’s more than exciting to return to HBO with this project and such an incredible cast. I am very grateful to everyone who made it possible for us to bring our little bubble to Hawaii, a place I can proudly consider a home away from home.”
