After the publication of the new explosive trailer for The Suicide Squad, curiously arrived earlier than expected on the web in the form of an advertisement on YouTube, the director James Gunn also shared the official poster on social networks.
The post has arrived on the author’s official page and shows the group led by Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and John Cena ready to die to save the world: you can find the poster conveniently at the bottom of the article.
Recall that, in the past, producer Peter Safran has explicitly stated that The Suicide Squad will not be a sequel to David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad, but a reboot. Warner Bros. jumped at the opportunity to involve Gunn in the film that the director has turned away from Disney due to the re-emergence of some old controversial tweets, which later re-entered the controversy. The author will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with two projects, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy: Christmas Special, which will begin shooting in the coming months.
As for The Suicide Squad, the film promises to be very different from the rest of DEC U: the story will follow Task Force X during a suicide mission in a Nazi-era prison located on the South American island of Corto Maltese, where the team will have to face the evil Starro … literally a giant starfish with psychic powers.
The release date is set for next 6 August.
