While the public has recently been able to discover the release date of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the legal action initiated by The Pokémon Company following the leaks involving the last chapters of the series does not stop.
After identifying two of the leakers who contributed to the spread of advances on Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, The Pokémon Company has in fact taken steps to sue them already in 2019. Now, the court in charge of managing the case has reached a final decision: each of the two defendants will have to pay the videogame company compensation for damages of 150,000 dollars, to which must also be added the legal costs incurred during the last two years.
A decision that establishes the responsibility of the two individuals in the dissemination of confidential material. During the process, it was in fact discovered that the leaked images released before the launch of the Nintendo Switch exclusives came from a strategic guide of Pokémon Sword and Shield. One of the two defendants worked at the time at the company in charge of printing the volumes. Responsible for the realization of the shots, the latter then sent them to the second leaker, who disseminated them on a Discord server, bringing them to the attention of the international community. The images depicted several unannounced features, such as the Gigamax.
This closes part of the story, which even involved a Portuguese sector site, which has since been included in Nintendo’s blacklist.
