During a recent promotional interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Anya Taylor-Joy commented on her acting debut with The Witch, a famous horror written and directed by director Robert Eggers.
In 2015, the year after Mark Waters’ Vampire Academy (in which she took part with an uncredited role), Taylor-Joy with her performance in The Witch immediately attracted the attention of critics and audiences, and from there onwards she never stopped becoming one of the most requested and acclaimed actresses on the square. Still, from his point of view, it all seemed over: ” Rob showed us the film maybe two hours before the first public screening, and I was devastated, ” said Anya Taylor-Joy. “I thought I would never work again, I still have the chills thinking about it. It was one of the worst feelings of my life. I thought, ‘I have disappointed the people I love most in the world. I didn’t do my job well ‘And I’m usually quite a long-winded person, I like to talk, I like to communicate, but then and there I didn’t say a word, I just cried. I couldn’t bear to see my face so big. “
Needless to say, Anya Taylor-Joy, for once, made a big mistake: soon, we remember, the actress will reunite with director Robert Eggers for The Northman, due out in 2022 for Focus Features, while next summer she will inherit Furious that was the role of Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road by George Miller in the prequel focusing on youth Empress Furious.
