The Duchess took control of the situation and was gentle and kind to Harry, and was a peacemaker with her husband.
Kate Middleton is earning praise for the way she took the baton and “overcate” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rude comments against her during her conversation with Oprah Winfrey.
Speaking to talkRADIO, royal expert Angela Levin said the Duchess of Cambridge played the peacemaker between her husband, Prince William, and her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, despite the way the latter’s wife spoke about her publicly in her interview.
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, approached Prince Harry directly and asked him anything. She talked, she was animated, she didn’t seem resentful,” Levin said.
“Oh my God, you’ve been very rude to her, but she rose above that with enormous dignity. His body language was friendly, natural, relaxed,” he continued.
“Then Prince William, her husband, joined them and she went down noticeably to the sidewalk leaving the two brothers close to each other. Gradually he stepped back and talked to Sophie, the Countess of Wessex,” he continued.
“It was very subtle and she kept looking to see if they were okay. The hardest part is breaking the ice, this broke the ice and allowed them to talk on a very touching and sunny day,” Levin added.
“I thought it was an overwhelmingly extraordinary event. I think it was hard not to be deeply moved and equally proud of Britain,” she said.
