Are you a Kanye West superfan? Then you may soon own a piece from the rap legend’s sneakers collection. Provided, however, that you have a six-0 number in your bank account. Yes, six zeros.
The famous auction house Sotheby’s has announced that it will auction the Nike Air Yeezy 1 Prototype, the iconic sneakers worn by the artist during the memorable and exciting performance of “Hey Mama” and “Stronger” at the 2008 Grammys.
They are currently worth $1 million, more than any other shoe previously beaten by Sotheby’s. And this crazy price is obviously just the auction base.
The shoes are number 12, which is equivalent to an Italian 47. So let’s also find out that Kanye has a really nice pie done. Lol
These sneakers sent fashion fanatics into delirium at the time, as they were identifiable only for Nike’s swoosh on the side.
Designed by West and Mark Smith, the Air Yeezy had a whole new silhouette – designed for a performer instead of an athlete – and paved the way for Kanye’s brand, Yeezy, as we know it today.
