Taylor Swift had promised the imminent arrival of great news and so it was. On the afternoon of Thursday, February 11, the singer announced the release of the remastered version of her second studio album. It will be titled “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and will be anticipated by the single “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)”, available from Friday, February 12.

The decision to re-record his old albums Tay Tay took it after scooter Braun bought the Big Machine Label Group label for $300 million in 2019, thus becoming the “owner” of all records released before “Lover”.

Taylor told fans she plans to release “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” in a lengthy letter to fans posted on Instagram – find the Italian translation below – in which the release date would also be hidden. Joining all the capital letters scattered here and there appears APRILNINTH, April 9.

“When I think back to the album ‘Fearless’ and everything it has become, an involuntary smile creeps into my face – Taylor writes – That was the musical era in which so many jokes were created between us, so many hugs exchanged and hands touched, so many indissoluble bonds formed.

So, first of all, let me say that it was a real honor to be a teenager by your side. And for those of you, I’ve known more recently than in 2008, I’m ecstatic to relive some of that feeling with you in the very near future. Now that I can fully appreciate it in all its extravagant, eccentric, and chaotic totality.

“‘Fearless’ was an album full of magic and curiosity, joy and devastation of youth. It was the diary of the adventures and explorations of a teenage girl who was learning tiny lessons every time a new crack formed in the fairytale ending she had seen in the movies. I’m excited to tell you that my new version of “Fearless” is ready and will be with you soon. It’s called “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and includes 26 songs.

“I’ve talked a lot about why I’m redoing my first six albums, but I hope the way I chose to do it will make it clear where I come from. Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most obvious is that the artist is the only one who really knows that work. For example, only I know what songs I wrote and that they were almost going to end up in “Fearless”. Songs that I absolutely loved, but that were excluded for several reasons (I didn’t want too many songs on a breakup, I didn’t want too many songs downtime, I couldn’t put so many songs on a physical CD).

Now, these reasons seem so useless… I’ve decided that I want you to have the whole story, for you to see the whole vivid image, and to let you into the whole dreamlike landscape that is “Fearless.” That’s why I chose to include six songs never released before in my original version of this album. Written when I was between 16 and 18 years old, it’s the songs I suffered that I left behind.

This process was more fulfilling and exciting than I could have imagined and made me even more determined to re-record all my music. I hope you’ll enjoy this first release as much as I enjoyed traveling back in time to recreate it. “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” will be released tonight.

Best regards and fearless, Taylor.”
