The artist Camila Hair and her boyfriend, canadian composer Shawn Mendes, were going through quarantine together. Have been enjoying a stage of isolation in the middle of a global pandemic. Yes, not have wanted to stay with her arms crossed after seeing the injustice that has been committed with the death of George Floyd.

Recall that this resident american lost his life after being retained, in a violent manner, by a police officer of Minneapolis. For the same reason, both Camila’s Hair as Shawn Mendes wanted to be a part of one of the massive protests that have taken place the past weekend in Miami, united States.

The couple was captured among the protesters for one of the cities of Miami. The two wore their respective masks, as well as banners with messages showing their support against racism. In addition to showing support in this journey, they have also been shown in social networks their discontent and dismay at the unjust treatment that has been given to George Floyd.

So much so that, in your profile’s official Instagram, Camila Cabello posted a text where he said that, after seeing the video of the arrest of George Floyd, had “been trying to find the right words” to speak. It is a topic that has produced pain, because it was a life whose life “had been taken away with impunity”.

I’ve been trying to find the right words to say after I saw the video where George Floyd”s life is being taken from him with impunity… I am so sorry to George Floyd’s family and Ahmaud Arbery”s family, And Breonna Taylor’s family and to the countless other black families that have their children and parents being taken away from them. I stand with you in outrage, and I have called Minnesota Governor Walz, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison , and Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, their numbers and what to say is on the ACLU website, and I urge you to please call, please sign the petitions, and let’s stand together for justice. We need to change, we can’t afford to be silent, and we can’t afford to society that’s indifferent to others pain. #BlackLivesMatter #WeCantBreathe

In the first place, Camila Cabello wanted to send his condolences to the family of George Floyd. He also used the occasion not only to mention but also to remember all those people who had lost their lives in these years, unjustly, because of their skin colour. Something that can’t be achieved.

“I’m so sorry for the family of George Floyd and the family of Ahmaud Arbery, and the family of Breonna Taylor, and the countless other black families who were removed from their children and parents”explained the interpreter of ‘Havana’. So outraged was with what happened that he made a call to the union and the justice, with the aim of eradicating racism forever: “We need a change. We cannot afford to remain silent and we cannot afford a society that is indifferent to the pain of others”. What a great reason!
