Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to ask them to step aside from their duties as members of the Royal Family in order to protect their son, Archie, 8 months, from fame.

The revelation was made by a close family friend to RadarOnline. “Meghan has made her name since she got married and (joined) the Royal Family, but she didn’t realize how big that responsibility would be,” she said.

“She realized this is not the life she wants to live forever and, especially with Archie, it is not the life she wants him to have,” the source added.

Markle and Harry’s decision to resign their royal duties and privileges was made public through their joint Instagram account. Unveiling their new plans, they said they plan to no longer reside full time in the UK.

Today Harry is the sixth in the line of succession to the British throne – behind his father, Charles; his brother, William; and his three nephews, George, Charlotte, and Louis.
