J-Lo lost Best Supporting Actress Award to Laura Dern
Jennifer Lopez was a favorite to win the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Golden Globe 2020 for her work on ‘The Scammers’, but lost the category to Laura Dern for ‘Stories of a Marriage’.
The name of the actress and singer, in fact, was most talked about during the party because of her dress – which yielded a number of memes and comparisons on social networks.
After losing the prize and becoming a meme, J-Lo, however, received support from her fiancé, former baseball player Alex Rodriguez, who posted a photo of the actress on his Instagram.
“Jen, it doesn’t take a trophy, medal or plaque to identify a true champion,” wrote the athlete in the caption. “For millions of young women who have watched you and been inspired and empowered to do amazing things in your life, you are a champion.”
Rodriguez followed the text extolling the quality of his bride. “For countless musicians, dancers and actresses who have seen and emulated your passion and work ethic to find your own success, you are a champion,” he said.
After losing the Golden Globe, J-Lo’s attention is focused on other awards in which she was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress, such as the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Critic’s Choice Award. The celebrity is also expected to receive an Oscar nomination.
