Star Trek yes, Star Trek no. A dilemma that Quentin Tarantino has been carrying with him for months now, and which seemed to have recently been answered in some of the director’s statements. But will it really be so?
“As far as I know, the idea of a Star Trek according to Quentin Tarantino is still on the table. Then it depends on QT and what he wants to do” would have said Simon Pegg, the actor who plays Montgomery Scott aka Scotty in the recent Star Trek movie franchise in an interview.
The director of C’Era Una Volta A … Hollywood, however, who initially seemed quite enthusiastic about the idea of directing a film on Star Trek, so much so as to have already clear it’s rating ( My Star Trek will be forbidden to minors ) only a few days ago he affirmed his desire to want to “downsize” as regards his tenth and last film and to make it more an epilogue than a climax. Or, at least, that’s what he thinks he’s doing right now. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t change your mind.
Meanwhile, Paramount has confirmed that it has two Star Trek films in the pipeline, with one of these supposed to be Tarantino’s film, while the other would like Noah Hawley to direct and script, as well as the return of Chris Pine. as Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock.
We will see how many and which of the rumors that run on the Star Trek franchise will then be confirmed or denied.
