Guardians of the Galaxy 3, James Gunn Reveals When Filming Will Begin

Answering a few questions from his followers on his official Instagram social network page, director and screenwriter James Gunn explained when the shooting of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol3 will begin.

As we know, after the author’s dismissal and subsequent return to Marvel Studios, the work on the third chapter of the Guardians saga is necessarily postponed, especially because in the meantime Gunn has been hired by Warner Bros. to make The Suicide Squad, a sort of sequel/reboot of the 2016 film by David Ayer.

It is precisely the filming of that film, currently underway, that prevents the director from dedicating himself to the new film about Peter Quill and his companions, which has been postponed to Phase 5 of the MCU. The director discussed it with his fans under one of his posts on Instagram, announcing that ” we will not start shooting before about a year, roughly “.

In short, the director expects to start work on the final chapter of his trilogy between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021: remember that Marvel Studios currently have two dates reserved for 2022 and four for 2023. With this update from Gunn, do you think Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will arrive in 2022 or 2023? Tell us in the comments section.
