The Pokémon Company announced the winners of the 2019 Pokémon World Championships: here are the names and categories.

The Pokémon were the protagonists of the 2019 World Championships, at the end of which the winners were announced. Below all the details on the event. 

The 2019 Pokémon World Championships ended yesterday in the city of Washington DC after three days of breathtaking challenges and friendly competition. 

For the sixteenth year, the best coaches in the world did not want to miss the appointment with the most prestigious tournament of video games and the Pokémon Trading Card Game (GCC). 

For video games, the contestants competed in Pokémon UltrasolePokémon Ultraluna, and Pokkén Tournament DX. The Pokémon world premier event has brought together more than 7,000 players and fans from all over the world in the US capital. 

The Pokémon World Championships are held in a different venue each year. To participate, players must qualify by competing in different tournaments at local, regional and international level. 

This year’s winners were awarded a special Pokémon World Championships trophy, an invitation to the 2020 Pokémon World Championships and a cash prize in the form of a scholarship, cash or tourist voucher. 

The Pokémon Company International gave more than 500,000 dollars awarded to the finalists of the 2019 Pokémon World Championships.

  • World Champion of the GCC Pokémon 2019 in the Senior category: Kaya Lichtleitner [DEU]
  • 2019 Pokémon GCC world champion in the Master category: Henry Brand [AUS]
  • World Champion of Pokémon 2019 video games in the Junior category: Pi Wu [TWN]
  • World Champion of Pokémon 2019 video games in the Senior category: Ko Tsukide [JPN]
  • World Champion of Pokémon Video Games 2019 in the Master category: Naoto Mizobuchi [JPN]
  • Pokkén Tournament 2019 world champion in the Senior category: ashninja1 [USA]
  • Pokkén Tournament 2019 World Champion in the Master category: Subutan [JPN]
